Truffles

Truffles

Golden box filled with a cryptic variety
The folded paper to help me decipher
which chocolate I just placed in my mouth
Without that paper I poke and prod each truffle
looking for the perfect one.
And when I find the one that suits me
I close my eyes and lean back
Enjoying the fruits of my labor
It is laborious searching for that one piece
That one you can’t quite put your finger on

About the Author

Saschia Johnson writes poetry, creative non-fiction, short stories, and screen plays. On her free time Saschia likes to be with her family hiking outdoors and traveling. New England is her home and place of birth. When asked what she wants to teach the world she replied, "Don't stop searching. Too many times, in my old life, I put my search aside for more 'important matters.' I didn't realize the thing I was searching for held what was most important; my soul purpose." Saschia works daily improving her craft and at times can get down on herself, but her favorite morning mantra is "It's a new day." And that's what she strives to start with every morning. You can find her writing on Jayne. Press. She writes because there isn't any other medium she's felt such a strong connection with. Her need to write greatly surpasses her desire to write.
